I am planning on doing a 5 stud conversion on my e30 but I'm rather confused at what suspension will fit with all the new different parts,
I have sourced an e36 compact for the rear set up and understand I need the e30 M3 front set up, however I would like to fit coilovers as I'm going for the slammed look with stretched tyres, do I need e30 or e36 coilovers? or am I way off the mark?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Todd
5 stud conversion suspension options? e30 or e36 coilovers?

Make a cup of tea, sit down and have a thorough read:
http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... Conversion
Coilovers are mentioned in there somewhere.

Make sure you get E36 m3 evo hubs , evo arms . e36 coilovers to go with e36 hubs , with e30 topmounts.
Coilovers it doesnt matter whether you get ordinary or m3 coils .

If you're using E30 M3 front legs, you want E30 M3 coilovers.
If you're using E36 M3 Evo hubs and wishbones, need E36 front coilovers as Batts says.
If you are using an E36 Compact rear end with the E36 M3 Evo front stuff, an E36 compact coilover set is what you want - this is what have done, using a Koni E36 compact coilover set.
Just bear in mind you may need spacers to clear the spring platforms with BMW's ET47 wheels.

Thankyou that has cleared up the initial confusion, however if I were to go for the e36 evo front hubs would the evo brakes go straight on? I will be running at least 17's.
Sorry I'm new to this, advice much appreciated!

Yes, with 17's they will clear the brakes.
E36 M3 Evo set up is so much cheaper and easier then trying to source an E30 M3 set up
Hsd's are great out of the box coilovers, they come with castor and camber adjustable top mounts, the quality and ride is good on them with plenty of adjustment. Well priced too
