WHat size and brand of tyre do people recommend for a stock IS wheels (15x7).
I believe 205/55 are the norm, but what does everyone think about the looks of the 205/55, do 215/50 look alot better and offer more grip? What about from a ride and handling perspective etc. What is a good allround tyre brand (wet and dry)? ANy pics?
Cheers

215/50 are very hard if not impossible to find
I have 4 P6000's fitted, they just grip grip and grip no matter what the conditions dry/wet snow etc, Obviously you can make them break traction but it does take a lot of abuse to get them there.
My only complaint is when I first had them that the sidewall felt a little tall, although now I don't even notice it tbh. I thought the Avon ZV1's were good before but these are even better.
I think I paid Ԛ£130 ish for each pair

You either love 'em or hate them I guess with the Avons, I had a couple of mates with them, one was a Mk2 Golf, the other was a ***** 200. Both were very impressed. The only reason I went away from the Avons was that they stopped making the ZV1 and replaced it with the ZZ1 which didn't look that clever to me
Hence the Prelli's which are very good.

ive run both pirelli and avons and whilst could live with the pirelli's as they had some semblance of traction the avons were the nastiest pieces of crap ever, they didnt even wear evenly and the tyre guy who replaced them with uniroyal rainsports (another v good tyre - the newer design ones with big V's) said they were shit. they couldnt even cope with my mate's 1.0 corsa on 15's!!

Im runnin Bf goodrich profilers on my 15" crosspokes and they grip very well. I tried to get the same as on my 17's which are yoko parada spec 2's (they are amazing in the wet btw!!!) but they dont do them for that size of 15 yet. The bf goodrich are very good though.

i can't find goddyear eagle f1's in 205/55/15 anywhere.....which quite frankly pisses me off as i desperatly need two for the front, they only have about 0.2mm to go before being illegal.....
i can find 195/55/15, are these any good or are they troo streched to get any good grip?

dunlop do the sport sp9000 in 205/55 they should be pretty damn good
they get good reviews
however if u decided to go for the 215/50's mentioned then it wont knock ur speedo out too much - 1.7% - when your speedo shows 60mph you will actually be doing 59mph (not that theyre too accurate anyways)
