How about 7.5 J in width and look at the standard bmw rim for a number next to ET for the standard offset, tyre size wise 215/ 45 16 is popular and should give good grip and ride.

i just dont want them rubbing every time i go over a bump or when on full lock,i saw some that was 16x7.5/16x9 on rear but what tyre size would you need with them and it says offset to suit but which will be the offset required for these sizes?

It's better to stick with standard offset in my opinion and just increase rim and depth size. I would have thought you would have any running as your arches have been rolled, would the seller of the rims not advise a tyre size, 9" on the back may need wider rubber, say 225 for example,

If you really must deviate from 7x15 BBSs with 205/55 tyres, 7.5X16 rim size and 225/45X16 tyre size is what BMW fitted to the later M3s and the Sport Evo - so that's what you want to go with. Hartge 7.5s and 225/45 all round or staggered Alpinas (7/8x16 with 205/50 front and 225/45 rear) are your best bet. Not cheap though but with decent dampers along with your Eibachs you'll have a nice ride.

Comfortable if you like sitting on a bus ....

15 inch BBS cross spokes with 205/55 tyres is good.
Hartge 16 inch wheels on 205/50 is also good.

To quote orangecurry, who seems to be around no longer,

The correct offset for a wheel for an E30 is not simply ET25 - it depends on how wide are the rims.

To give you an idea....

BMW Bottletops 6jx14h2 et35
BMW BBS 6.5j x 14h2 et30
BMW BBS 7j x 15h2 et24
Hartge 7.5j x 16h2 et25

I deserve 6 of the best ...
