gents;

i'm chaning the stat and water pump on my e30 318is, got the stat out but alas i cant get the viscous fan off.

can i assume it is left hand threaded? ive got the correct tool but all i'm doing is either tunring the engine over or the belt is slipping. is my only option to use a hammer and punch and try and knock the nut round??

any tips?

long 32mm spanner and a hammer hit anticlockwise will get it off. :D

glad im changing it :eek:

occasionally the temp gauge would go slightly over half way if stationary then go down to normal once moving again. Not only are the fins breaking up the bearings are stiff too

changed this last weekend but could not get the system to bleed the temp started rising again & no heat through the airbox so switched it off & left the cap off the rad in the hope it would bleed itself

come to give it another go today and its bled itself so job jobbed :-)
