I'd say it's way too expensive now to consider since it's got no MOT or TAX.

ended 870, not a bad price if it only needs 2 wings and them other bits IF the rest of it is solid and nice, bit of a gamble really that could go either way but would still break for more

who knows jim, hard to tell from a couple of pictures if its nice or not, if its been on that grass for months/all winter like that it wouldnt of done the underside any favours and permanent moisture under the car for months, engine may be shagged/blown or anything, then again it may not and be a good by if its nice

I sold my IS in a non running state about 18 months ago and got just over £800 for it.

Had a blown head gasket, starter motor was fucked, gearbox was a little knotty and rust had started to show in the scuttle and on the rear arches, i stated all this in the ad and was expecting about £400 tops, you can imagine my delight when the high bidder actually turned up to collect the car :D

You haters are just gonna have to accept that the 318is is highly thought after model and in about 10 years time i think they will be worth equal money to sports if not more (I'm guessing here) but i reckon there are more 325's sports left than 318is's?

I think the price of fuel in 10 years time will dictate the price of 318is , as clearly they don't have the pedigree of a sport or any 325i tbh

you have to wonder if any of the haters have owned one , a nice one is hard to find now and you dont see many for sale in that nice mid range, like sports people are keeping hold of the nice ones

they don't have the pedigree of a sport I'll give you that but they have more pedigree than a run of the mill 325.

why anyone would want to drive a bogo 325 with cloth seats or comfort leather and no nice trimmings and return 20mpg is beyond me, 320 owners well they are just retarded

(Que a whole host of 325 owners in denial claiming to be getting over 35mpg from an old 6 pot pig iron block)

alot of them have and they have loved em but once they get a 325 they think they have joined some exclusive club and begin to shun the 318is's

Magpie and Alex are prime examples of this, both loved there 318is's when they had them now they take the piss like the rest of the deluded muppets

Yes very true but the point I'm making is that when E30's become a proper classic i think the 318is is gonna be up there with the most sought after models of E30

If anything with fuel going the way it is, having a 318is would be an ideal practical classic

have yoou ever drove one ? you saw my old black one didnt you ? was a lovely car, great to drive with the way it was all set up, bilstein, eibach, 15" bbs, quick shift, etc bang on the buck

tell ya what, you know the road that goes from portsdown hill past the college ? ie if you come off the hill going left and come out just up the road from asda, that was my favourite section of road, youd come round the right by the golf course then go left and that looooooong sweeping right ,that car used to have it round that section of road unbeliebvably well, going round that long sweeping right in a rwd revving like fook the rear wheels right on the edge it felt, couldnt do it in the wet youd be in the hedge, but roads like that in a 318is were unreal, a 325i just couldnt do that quite the same with the weight

take a drive up there on a nice evening in yours , when no one else is about

Surely they have tried what both have to offer and have decided that 325's are a better car? Not some "exclusive club" bollocks.

I like an iS, keep the buzzy engine on song and it suits the e30 but give me a 6 pot any day.

i like the is, i had both sat outside my house and could of kept both, after driving the 325i the roar, power, sort of killed something in the is at the time, compared it doesnt feel like it had much when you put the foot down in terms of roaaaarrrr, but then its a quiter more advanced engine, but i sold the is, just couldnt turn down the 3k i got for it and had 4 cars outside one had to go

now ... id like to by another one for a daily, as it would make a great pair of e30s, the IS as a more economical nippy around daily, and the 325i for pleasure driving to put £50 on a sunday and wax the lot having a blast, but if its 1 you can have then of course the 325, but the IS is a nice looking and feeling e30 with its own flavour, nice styling and interior and spec

here they were outside my house..

your missing my point i don't think the IS is better I'm not stupid i know the 325 is a better car, just think a lot of folk on here are wrong to mock it so much, but then again this forum has started to get a bit of a name for its self over things like that.

Just because someone moves on from a 318is to a 325 does not mean they have to change there opinion all of a sudden

Not quite a 316 had no nice features other than being an E30 the IS came with sports seats, front and rear spoilers mtec steering wheel gear knob and suspension, better brakes etc etc as standard, infact i think I'm right in saying that the equipment level on the IS is on par with a sport bar the tech 2 kit and the engine

I'm yet to drive my IS, fitted a nice interior this weekend, hopefully buying an 318i off my pal to get some parts off and break, having things like the arch liners the bonnet and the opening mech as my bonnet is dinted in various places and has pins, i'm debating weather to do it brilliant rot red like the rest of the car or maybe satin black??? don't want to look like a rude boi too much eye
