Shame this is going to be fragged. Can't be many 323s left these days. I'd be reckoning on finding more than a little 'surface rust' behind the kit though.
Hopefully there will be a nice little find of paperwork somewhere...

Two headblenders, couple of bags of MC Hammer, 5 litres of FFF, a 48ft bastard, a box of jumped-up custard and some soggy chimps

it's a none sunroof which is a shame really as the floor will be rotted out and i noticed some holes on the drives side inner wheel arch from inside the boot so it's fair to say it's scrap really .i don't even know if it runs

Be sure to get your petrol saw to the pillars Mick. I reckon the roof is £150 to a motorsport c0ck

Finally it's home . only 68k miles with all mot's

it refused to go on the not so "flat bed" but a few builders cracks later and some wood it was on board and strapped down
now you lucky people get to see the front end .

dumped on the drive and out with the 22mm socket

leather conditioner kit at the ready !

If that's fairly solid it'd be a shame to break that

Indeed - a good clean up and try and draw 800 quid as it is. After the LSD has been swapped, that is.Kedge wrote:If that's fairly solid it'd be a shame to break that

I don't understand your logic there - wouldn't they be less likely to rot out, or do you mean from where it's been standing on a grassy knoll for a long time?magpie wrote:it's a none sunroof which is a shame really as the floor will be rotted out...

So, what's the story as to why it was lain up for so long?
Seems a shame, as it looked like a decent example.

the owner got a 190e from his brothers will a while back so never used the e30 for over 10 yrs and kept it in a garage until he moved it to his back garden about 3 yrs ago .he said he last started it up 5yrs ago and wanted to bet me and my recovery driver £25 each that it would start there and then with some jump leads . i declined as i want to turn it over slowly by hand first before i attempt to fire it up .Speedtouch wrote:So, what's the story as to why it was lain up for so long?

If he got bored of it, why not just sell it?

the 1.8 190e was obviously better on petrol .as you said back in the day this would of looked much better than the merc .

we did put the truck beacon on
i'm giving the steering wheel some gliptone action trying to get the leather nice again as it looks dry and tired .i just hope it works,if not i'll be looking for a good re-trim place to do it.
i know there was a thread on here about steering wheel re-trimmers but can't find it so i might just ask rav as i'm sure he posted a link on it

well i was going to put some jump leads across and see if it'll fire up until i opened the bonnet and saw this ...lmfao!

i checked the rad hoses which are still rubber surprisingly and not concrete then checked the filler bottle which was empty and the return pipe just snapped off in my hand
Bonnet shut and now settled in for the 1.45pm early kick off
the turd can wait!

i had a go at starting it today seeing as we've got some milder weather ,after topping up the water, checking all the fluids and hooking up a fully charged battery + the jump leads to keep the charge going it was time i turned the key ........

looks like i'd of won that £25 bet
the immob won't turn off and the large single relay under the bonnet near the air filter is ticking away, what is the relay for ? also need to find a way round the foxgaurd immob and get fuel + spark then i'll try again.i really want to get this running

Have you checked the condition of the fuel, it will have probably gone sweet and manky
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

If you just want to get it started, can't you just bridge the coil green wire straight to the battery live, and similarly bridge the fuel pump relay? Dunno if it works on these old Jetronic turds.
