Funnily enough whilst reading this thread on and off today. I got a call from my girlfriend telling me she's driven my touring into the neighbours fence... I'm currently on the train home from work to see if I might need a reputable sprayer :o

Ha ha, that's why I go on here, which I turn keeps me hidden away working under my car...

Also the damage wasn't anything bad, a few extra scratches on an already tatty trimmed bumper.. A bit of work to do on the fence mind..

Verde I wouldn't bother thinking it into it that far even. She simply started it in gear, got spooked and froze..

Lol my old man had a petrol station an old woman came in park over the delivery tanks (which your not supposed to do) went in and drove forward into a 1 foot drop detween the tanks and a wall. It was quite funny as I seen he shitting herself. I went out and pushed her out with the help of anothercustomer then had to jump out the way as she put it back into drive instead of reverse and came hurtling back into the drop.... wimmen!!!

Surprisingly. Did they have tests back then or did apply for your license?

Polsta, the reason i ask is for a second opinion. I thought that was pretty obvious to be honest.

At the moment the car isnt perfect its only a 316i and its got 119k on the clock but the engine is quiet, diff/gearbox are perfect and theres no rust, interior is very nice too, its just the paint and a couple of very minor rust spots really. I plan to keep it for a good few years as i really like the car

Price wise OK it sounds cheap but im a self employed gas engineer myself and i know that over the past 3 years labour prices have declined as consumers simply dont have the money anymore. I have dropped my prices by half but the quality remains the same, because i have a good reputation and reputation is what keeps the money coming in.. even if its not great money.

car looks tidy, wanna sell it :D

i know what your saying ,and areas may vary, but cars are cars not gas, any mechanic, sprayer, anyone i know who works with cars, are always flat out with work queing up and private work comming out of their ears , any decent sprayer is always a very busy in demand man, hence most of them simply do not need to work for cheap and with all the time and effort it takes to prep and skill to paint decent..is why its so expensive to get done

ask yourself...if its £400 of materials , and many hours work and prep to properly... would you actualy expect it to be a good job for £400 labour ? when a sprayer can earn more with 2 quick half day jobs and what the quality of him is like to actualy need to be doing a full re spray for that ? thats what id be asking myself

even when people say "hes been painting 30 years" etc . doesnt mean much, that could be deemed past their prime and not as good as they used to be and a bit shoddy these days and on wy down not up ,hence being cheap , not in all cases but some
