An EXCELLENT one is £25/£30 all day long. EXCELLENT means all six cassette holders pop up and no delaminating around the ashtray and no 'phone' holes.

People want these for the same reason that people seek out and pay lots of money for 80s Blaupunkts. As with E30s and E30 parts, most are fooked . An ever shrinking pool of turds and parts = higher prices.

Don't want to hi-jack this thread.... but

I tracked down the console with the holes for heated seat switches & cassette deck but the cassette deck is fooked.

So Pete... got any in your back passage? :D

As Pete says, Minty fresh ones are getting rare so they demand more money. If people arent happy paying it, get a not so minty one for lots less! Just because they use to be cheap, doesnt mean they will always stay cheap.

I chopped up my cassette box to make a hidden storage area, and drilled a hole in the console piece to put a power switch for my road angel.

Then had to buy replacements off Pete when I decided original was best.

Can these things be fitted into either facelift or prefacelift turds? Also, is it a doddle to remove & fit centre consoles? Seats & carpet wouldn't have to be removed would they?

Very straight forward. Remove handbrake 'gaiter' remove rear ashtray, undo 10 mm plastic nut, remove ashtray bulb holder while removing console. Fit new console, job jobbed . Extra paedo points for those who check their rear ashtray bulb and replace if not working :)

The consoles are all the same , unless you have a switchable auto.

many years ago it was classed as Molestation to a console if a Fischer C box was in there,
Luckily I saved them when they were getting thrown away I have 9 all in fine condition.. :)

one still has cassettes inside... I'm looking for a victim who listens to Tom Jones/Billy Idol/Cliff Richard and Rod stewart .. the best hits of Xmas 1992 will come free..

I'm hoping spook will give me a Handsome price for it :D

When I get mine fitted it will be filled with the finest period correct 1989 release cassettes :o:

My dads e30 had one when he owned it back in 1994 ish, then my m3 came with one fitted so I just assumed they were a pretty standard fit part.
cheers,

I think they were just a cost option.

Probably not dealer fit as the pocket area on a plain pocket would need cutting out.
cheers,

harry
