Well I was completely shocked when my guy phoned me to tell me the car had passed!!!!!

27 years old this year, I have not done anything to the car since the last MOT.

There of course is a list of advisories...

So first I need to get the rear sub frame bushes done, what else should I be looking at and what bushes should I be replacing with?

Front brake hoses need doing, what make should I be replacing with? They said the brake pipes have seen better days, should I bite the bullet and get them done?

Other than that there are what I would call "incidentals" which I will do during the next 12 months.

Well chuffed!

Well done for getting through another MOT.

If you're going to go to the effort of changing the rear beam bushes, it would be a good idea to do the lot (bushes) Chances are most of them are the same age as your car and somewhat tired. Some info here..

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Bushes

For parts look them up on ECP or Car Parts 4 Less or even these guys www.motormec.co.uk , go for Lemforder who are the manufacturer for BMW.

As for brake hoses, a lot of people go for the braded hose upgrade. I think a set from Goodridge are around £80-£90. I think with the brake lines you can make them up yourself for a lot less. But you'd have to look that up on here as I'm not 100% sure on your options.

There's several hundred pounds to be spent in all that so its worth having a think what you want/need to change if you're on a tight budget.

Hope that's of some help :D

Hoses and bushes would get done if it were me, lines are a pig so do them only as required. If it's just the outside paint looking a bit rough, tidy them up and a repaint could stop any further degredation.
