My cars a 318i lux.. Bought it lowered on red springs and shocks think they might be apex?? Anyway it's lower at the back than the front and the car feels very rolly polly.. Soo thinking on changing the lot.. What's the best I would love coilovers but can't find any with the 45mm strut.. Anyone know of any good suspension set ups that would leave the car level and are a bit stiffer ?? Was reading about e46 back top mounts too are they better ??
Cheers adam

Check your subframe bushes havent collapsed - this could cause this symptom.

Best suspension setup would be to upgrade to 51mm struts, but there are some coilover setups that use 45mm struts too

is it lower at the back or is it just because the front arch is higher? look at your sills, are they level? It's impossible to get the same amount of arch gap on a BMW unless you have forwards rake, i.e front lowered more than the back.

But with regards to upgrades, as said, I'd definitely upgrade to 51mm struts. Are you looking to go really low? If not coilovers aren't really necessary, I'd recommend my H&R setup, although for £150 or so more, you can get the Bilstein B8/Eibach Pro Kit setup

Sills are straight Ano the arches are at different hights means I'd need a bitta reck then ? Is the 51mm strut alot of work?? Does it make much difference ?? I was putting the rollyness Down too soft shocks ? Ill get some pics up when I get home on the computer, on my crappy phone atm lol :p

Changing the struts over is easy work and all bolt on \ off. If you can buy a decent set of complete struts it will only take a couple of hours for a DIY fit.

Check the wiki for how to replace springs and it gives you a step by step guide.

The larger struts have better brakes, if you have a 4 pot engine then you will need to reuse the 4 pot springs or get lower 6 pot springs to compensate I believe as the engine is lighter and it will ride like a 4x4 at the front otherwise.
