Ok, I am considering converting my 2.8 24v track car to LHD.
It is now already being converted to a forest spec rally car.
The future will probably see an S50 as the others cars have.
There are many reasons why I want LHD, the main ones being the exhaust manifold/steering issue and the other being I want to get used to driving LHD E30's !.
So,
LHD parts required would be;
Z3 rack
Dash
Dash loom/entire loom if it will not mate with my rhd loom ???
Steering column ? Surely the RHD will just swap over ?
Pedal box
As kindly pointed out already by pacerpete;
door mirrors
Wiper motor/linkage/scuttle trims
Is this everything and has anybody done this themselves ?
Obviously the throttle pedal mount will need some kind of fabriocation unless the part can be purchased new...
Will
LHD Swap

I have spoken so many times about doing this conversion on my track turd, just a much better solution than RHD.
You might still be able to buy all of the necessary brackets that support the steering column and weld directly to the bulkhead.
If its for a track car only then you wont need all the extra wiring changes etc.
You will need an accelerator and clutch stop, easy enough to weld in.

This an involving process but the driving feels much better. You need to weld a few reinforcing on the column support bracket, weld in some bits on the firewall, replace the wiring behind the dashboard and stuff like:
Pedal box
brake linkage,
steering rack/piping
mirrors! (yes, they have diferent angles)
wipers, mechanism, motor
and the obvious like dashboard, console, glove box, glove compartment inner panels, fairing below the steering wheel, etc.

Seems like a good idea - having been through the pain of a RHD S14 conversion, anyone doing an S5x conversion would be wise to go LHD...
I would look out for a LHD car to buy honestly and break it - make some cash back on the bits, transfer your existing bits from one shell to the other and sell/scrap your old shell...
Just my 3 cents..
