H all, I recently fitted coil overs all round on my e30 I then discovered a noise under acceleration the prop weight rubbing the fuel tank, I was quite baffled as I didn't think the height of the car would affect the gap between prop and fuel tank. Any advice would be appreciated if you have exaperienced this before of have any ideas?

Are you sure that it's rubbing on the fuel tank and not the metal tray that is under the prop that may be pushed up at the end causing the noise that you mention?

Ride height should have no effect on the prop and fuel tank clearance.

Well I was under the impression it wouldn't be affected by ride height, i spray painted the prop and drove it to make sure it was the prop rubbing and sure enough the paint was marked, I thought maybe the fuel tank is sagging in the middle maybe ?!

that will be the cause no doubt, you've probably scrapped the zaust pushing it up has pushed the deflector onto the prop ? unless you can move the prop side to side then it's the centre bearing but you would hear the prop banging about if thats the cause.
