When I use the heater in my car on number 1 or 2 it makes a really annoying high pitch noise. Not a squeal, almost similar to a rattle. I had a quick look in the wiki but couldn't find anything like this. Could it just be that the motor needs lubricating?
Cheers

Mine does the same thing, until I hit a bump or go round a corner. Then the pitch will change, or go away. I put it down to the bushing in the motor being a bit worn and making slop in the system, which makes the squeaking. So I think the motor just need lubricating.

Mine is the same, but only on setting 1 when the temperature outside drops into the minus figures. Its ok otherwise. I am going to take a look when the whether gets a bit warmer. Its not causing enough of a problem at the moment and nuts to working on the car in the cold for a non emergency.

If mine does it on one setting, usually changing it makes it go away for a bit.billgatese30 wrote:Mine is the same, but only on setting 1 when the temperature outside drops into the minus figures. It also does something weird were it won't work at all, until you turn it up to four and leave it on that for a few seconds. Then it'll work on all the settings.

Having the dash out is not relevant - the fan motor is under the bonnet. I've posted lots of times on here how to lubricate the fan motor, and I think it's in the wiki as well.polsta wrote:is there a guide how do do this ? be a good idea to do mine while dash is outBATTS91 wrote:Mine does the same , itll be coming out and greasing up and bearings checked me thinks

There's the link to the wiki, the info on how to get to and remove the fan is down the page. I've used it and its spot on.
