just got round to looking at my oil cooler as it was cable tied to spoiler and I can't get it to fit. In the bentley manual it shows two brackets coming straigt off the bottom where as my one has two right angle brackets coming off the ends near the pipe's. This means it will not fit up behind the spoiler and it also looks like the long pipe will not reach. Does it matter which way round the cooler is as my one was upside down from the picture in the bentley and what about orientation on the oil pump so I can check if the pipes are on the right way.
thanks all.
Happy new year.

I'm not sure abbout your question, but i have an additional question...
When I drain the oil form the engine (for an oil change), does the oil that is in the oil cooler drains aswell ? if not, should I drain the oil from it separately ? if yes, should I refill it separately aswell ?

You will need to drain it seperately, but will fill normally.

Do you mean it will fill as I fill up the engine with oil ? User's manual says that there should be about 2 liters in there. DOes it need any special care like bleeding air from it or whatever ? I'm just concerned that if it's not full and the oil cooler valve opens most of oil will go to the cooler, which is empty, therefore effectively draining the oil from the engine and causing 'bad-things' ?DazzyA wrote:You will need to drain it seperately, but will fill normally.

There isn't 2 litres in there, I have just taken mine off and there is way less. I think the bentley manual states 4 litres plus 0.25 with a filter change. The oil will be pumped through the cooler. Just fill as normal then start the engine and make sure the oil pressure warning light goes out. If it doesn't, turn off and loosen the oil filter 1/4 turn and restart the engine. As soon as oil comes out of filter turn off and tighten filter, this will release and trapped air.
That's pretty much word for word from the Bentley manual so is good to go.
