Hi Guys
Has anyone ever burnt one of these units out. Last night after I put the car back together I started her up. Fired straight away as she would normally do, however I noticed the revs dropped when I turned the headlights on.
after a short while there was a strong smell of something burning,, turned car off, then the lights on the dash became bright. Turned the car off disconnected the battery and started sniffing around to see what I had smoked.
Could not find anything in the cabin, so off to the boot I went , touched the relay thingy ma bob and it was warm, quite warm to be honest. Pulled it out and it smelt like it had been tortoued. now remember I dont have the rear light clusters in or any of the circuits connected.
but I did notice the licence plate lights are not working. Could this be the issue.

If the relevant fuses are of the correct rating, then I wouldn't expect this unit to 'burn', but if someone's fitted over rated fuses then ...............

Fuses 4, 6, 22, 23 and 24 all feed power through the module. 4 and 22 are 15A, 6, 22, 23 and 24 are 7.5A, although 6 can be 15A on cars with a towbar.

Checked all the fuses, replaced the ones that were out of sync with above. All seems ok, check is working , I just need to replace a few globes.
