My e30 m20 2.5 convertible has recently started to judder and not want to go it need pops really loud at the exhaust and when the accelerator is pressed right to the floor doesn't go. Previously to this it overheated and steam and water came out for somewhere near the front of the top of the engine. I topped up the coolant and re-bled it and don,t think its dropped since, one of my friends looked at it and found air leaks but has now sorted them, but doing the same thing again. Could it be a fuelling issue? Secondly it currently doesn't, have a oil cooler on also and is leaking around the oil cooler mounting bolts wear its not fitted. I was worried I may have blown the head gasket or something internally, but can't see oil in water or water in oil, would this cause these symptoms anyway? Thanks matt

iv had similar mate, doubt its head gasket if you cant see any water mixing,

have a look in the wiki for over fueling issues, could be the TPS, ICV needs cleaning, blue temp sensor etc its all in the wiki mate and easy to follow, mine ended up being the TPS needed cleaning out and their was a split in the rubber intake boot

Before we can involved in the running issue, how, exactly, have you deleted the oil cooler?

It wasn't me that deleted it, but after inspection, thw whole lot is missing and bolts are in the two holes where it normally mounts to, but its now starting leaking around them. So I need another oil cooler basically or a more professional way to blank them.
