318i m40

ok just want to double check and see what other people think?

have cream/mao on oil filer cap and in oil dip-stick tube? (but not in oil)

was thinking sh*t head gasket

so i have a block sniffer test at work so used it and all ok??

test ok, no vast amount of coolant loss, no water in oil

my guess is the rocker cover breather pipe is split but only at the end were i connects at rocker cover

and have also been told this can happen if you drive short distances/cold weather????

i only travel 2min down the road to work and same again at night (links with what i have been told)

if anyone else has any opinions on the subject please let me hear them

cheer

If your running time is as states, it'll be back.

I've seen this on other cars too.

I think this idea that mayo under the oil cap is HG failure needs to be eradicated and replaced by something called lazy mans syndrome.

Causes condensation build up, bore wash, lack of lubrication, and rotted out exhaust systems.

As above, take it for a good old cane on the motorway or a dual carraigeway, get it nice a hot. And then start walking to work.
