I've fixed the alternator belt now but the power steering belt was proper knackered so i thought id replace that too.

Put the new belt on but its very loose, makes noise when i turn the car on and when i try turning the wheel its very tough. Obv its due to the loose belt and it skipping when i turn the wheel.

But when i go to tighten the adjuster nut it turns but nothing, doesn't even loosen it. Now what??

Not my car but heres the adjuster bolt im talking about

Help will be much appreciated

Which bolts have you undone exactly? The large one is only for adjustment, not for securing.
