Ages ago I asked a company called GKD about a supercharger kit for the m42 they'd had written about in a magazine.

Seems they may well have finished it... although it is currently only listed as for the e36. (so finished for the e36 :( my least favourite model)

Thought I may as well share. See if any folk care to trial fit to their e30 318is

Would be cool, but for £1395 i would expect a charger to be included.
I Always thought that a m42 was an e30 engine and the m44 was e36. If that is the case then it should fit the same.

Yeah looks like they want to check the clearance and such. Still... I'm sure you can find an Eaton 45 supercharger for cheap enough.

It's a nice thought anyway. Leaves the door open for a different upgrade.

you get 2 types i think, 1 is teflon coated which is the upgrade as it has a better seal to force the air and the other isn't. The teflon coated tends to fetch alot more.
when i was going to buy one mid last year they was ending at about £140 with bids.
those up for £400 isn't going to sell very quickly.

I paid like £90 for the one I had 5 years ago and that was an expensive one at the time.

Doesnt look quite as tidy as the Downing Atlanta set up, not a lot of pictures to go by.
Like the idea of supercharging though

Having seen this in the metal reality it has simplified pipe work over the DASC kit but it is using welded not cast items so those parts by nature are not a tidy, considering putting into my 318is in time when jobs done and it is proven to fit.

Update: in my inbox today http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-Series- ... 19e2f789cb

Looks like they are selling the kit eh? Myself, still without the car, would have to pay someone else to fit... :(

One day... I'll have the car, I swear !!
