Before any smartarse says, yes I've changed all the bulbs and all of them work.
I've awesomely bothered to film it (in HD no less) for your viewing pleasure.
The issue is simple, when a bulb blows/isn't connected properly you get high speed indicators, I'm cool with that. I've changed the bulbs, all nice and work spot on as hazards. Indicate left and again, spot on. Indicate right however and they are running high speed as if a bulb has blown....but they are ALL on running high speed (RHS all, LHS are fine and off as they should be).
Any ideas why this is happening?

Have you checked the connection to the hazard light switch? Funky indicator issues normally start there.

Removed the hazard switch, no indicators, replaced with a spare and I have the same result.Grrrmachine wrote:Have you checked the connection to the hazard light switch? Funky indicator issues normally start there.
I initially assumed that this was down to a blown side repeater bulb so changed the pair (left and right). I discovered that to get the bulb to light it had to be badly positioned in the holder. I was originally testing this using the hazard switch. Once I then tested using the indicator one I discovered that they light but are too fast on the RHS.
Are there multiple indicator relays by any chance?

They flash faster because they're drawing less current.
Check all the bulbs are the right wattage, and that the connectors are all properly attached.

Just been out in the garage. I checked the fronts, swapped them over, worked the same as before so wasn't those.capnmchl wrote:They flash faster because they're drawing less current.

Took off the rears and put them next to each other (earlier I did replace the RHS bulb, swapped it like-for-like with a spare).

Spot the difference!
So earlier I changed the indicator one for one that was the same as I'd removed. I assumed it had been fitted with the correct bulb...seems not. Replaced it for one that matched the LHS in terms of size and Volts and Wattage and...fixed.
I hate electrical systems.
Still, sorted now, as is my handbrake light issue, now I just need to sort the window gaps (although that can wait until after MOT).
