Is it me or is there an awful lot of bitching and nasty comments being made on here lately.
Its supposed to be a place to share and enjoy our old cars, whether oem, modded or just bodged (safely) to keep on the road, whatever happened to live and let live.
There are lots of youngsters on here who should be encouraged not ridiculed!!

Apologies to all those helpful people out there keep up the sound and helpful advice and critisim

Rant now over cheers

You shoulda been here a year or so ago :P
There seems to be a bit of stick now and then but in general everyone knows each other and its a bit of a laugh. Forum does appear to have a pretty bad reputation though, bit of a shame

I gotta watch what I say on the matter cos I do love drifting and I know a fair few drifters and a lot of them support sub low. However, sometimes I just....taking a car, welding the diff, sawing the pipe off and thrashing it round a laid out track at an airfield is not my cup of tea put it that way.

Boredom and especially distance i agree with, ithink people are way more likely to say things when they think theyl never see someone. Some of the stuff said on here would never be uttered in person or i think there would be a few zone murder cases around.

Drifters don't bother me. It's the illiterate mongs we seem to get all the time "iv gun and brought a e30 4 £200 and welded da diff and cut springz" that annoy me.

Diffing seems to attract a special class of knuckle draggers

Reading that I think the trampdrift chaps have got the wrong idea about the zone.

My car is about as council as they get yet I don't remember a single bit of abuse about it. Perhaps it's because I know it's a council turd and don't come on here thinking it's gods gift to the E30 world. :)

I would love to have an e30 to drift, but the one i have is a keeper.

The whole lifestyle is awesome, rattle can spray jobs, fixing panels with a hammer, cable ties and just skidding for the pure excitement of drifting.

Id make mine a matte calypso e30 on white wheels and white cage 8)

But unfortunately i try my best not to be that person who drives a quick fix sh1t box and think its looks the dogs bollox because its cover in stickers

Reading that second one of the first page I find it quite uneasing to see Gem (I think GemE30 on here) saying she's hated on the zone because she beat someone to an E30 fit for fragging which she's now turned into her diesel M51'd(That right?)... But when I read her topic on it everyone's really supportive and interested in it :?

In terms of the zone being anti-drifting I don't think that's entirely the case but it can be day in day out of "how do I make my e30 drift better and weld a diff bruvvvv" in E30 chat constantly, according to someone else on a forum saying drifting is a motorsport, they're right - so these should perhaps be moved to the Motorsport part of the forum? Or at least encouraged to be posted here eg included in the subtitle of it to "All the info you need to race/drift E30's"

If anyone actually read this and thinks it a good idea then mention it or something :)

Apart from the odd thread that runs away with itself the zone is quite tame IMO

You'll get shot down far quicker on Pistonheads for posting rubbish and more or less instantly if you comment on anything on barryboys !

The average 'Drifter' that comes long on here reminds me of this

Image

They also expect everyone to be supportive for them. The same sort of person i've seen over take me at dangerous points on the road, or dicking around on a new housing estate round about with a car covered in stickers... The cars they drive are usually £400 end of the line rusty sh1t heaps that need weighing in. If you was to actually hit someone, their car would just crumple. They think bumpers and wings held on by zip ties are cool, again, its not, its unsafe. Lowered down to the point where they are cracking their sumps every other week... Great for me and other breakers as we get the sales.

I have nothing against anyone wanting to take this up as a hobby, its a great hobby and its loads of fun d1cking around in an open space in a car, but dont expect others to welcome you if your car is dangerous and you drive like a cunt on public roads, regardless of what time of the night it is...

To a certain point it is, in the way alot of the people on here do like OEM and it helps set people on the right track.

Look back to when I joined, when i found out my car was a ringer i intended to rat it, run an illegal engine swap and drive around with it rawed with burn marks to look " rat " and have it scraping on the floor. Thankfully enough exposure to the zone has made me realise thats fucking stupid and now im going about things properly.
