E30 engine

Looked at e30 today checked oil on dipstick wiped clean with toilet paper. Went home and the oil smelt of petrol is this a problem your thoughts please

strange :/ Have you compared it to the smell of fresh petrol? It does smell different when hot

blue temp sensor dead, running warm up overfuelling continuously, how's the fuel consumption?

It was running for two minutes oil color was normal just had a fresh petrol smell to it, think I'm buying tomorrow the battery is dead so had to jump it didn't want to drive to far in case of stall a engine does have petrol going though it doesn't it

It's one issue the question I'm asking is should there be a smell of petrol when doing a dipstick challenge yes or no

You know the answer already. If the car has been sitting round for long enough to have a dead battery, are you sure the fuel smell is actually coming from the oil, as opposed to a rotten fuel line in the area or someting along those lines?

I've just smelt the oil from my missis new bm the 325i has a stronger smell but both very similar just being paranoid because no one wants to waste there well earned wonga
