Ok guys so I just bought my e46 rack and I'm wondering
What ujs do I use?
And I need 40mm spacers between the rack and subframe mounting?

Standard E30 uj fits the E46 rack.
Spacers are more like 14mm than 40mm.

Ahhh right thanks I did think 40mm was a lot but a friend was adamant it was!

You will need to modify the e30 uj by removing the rubber part and then bolting the 2 halves together.
