guys, i was thinking about buying some Gaz coilovers and have the option of going for a true rear coilover option at the rear. I've done some reading on this subject and a lot of people are saying that there is no benefit from running them and a lot of strengthening is required on the rear shock turrets as well as wheel clearance issues. Is there any truth about this? is anyone here using true rear coilovers? any pics of them installed?

Last year i was experimenting with various suspension options, one of was gaz coilovers. I had clearance issues with the rear wheel/tyre touching the damper/spring. I was using the gaz offset rear top mounts which do help with clearance but not enough in my case. (rear wheels 9x17 et 46. 5stud). This may not be an issue depending on wheel choice. Generally i was impressed with the quality of the product, but they were sadly not tested.

Well i was running a touring but whether its touring or saloon, the only thing you really need is a strut brace between the rear turrets to prevent flex.

My car did approx 70-80 laps at the 'ring, 8 drift days and few other assorted track days, no problems.

However your 9j wheels may be a bit of an issue, thats too big really unless you massively roll the arches

I have Gaz golds on my track car, 15x7j wheels with no problems, no strengthening either, if your wheels are sensible you will be fine
