Have read about Mk1/2 Escort and RS2000 engine mounts being used for M50 conversion - is this correct? Just wondering as they can be had fairly cheap and there's loads of options with regards to upgrades...

I'v just done a quick google,
and from the looks of the RS200 rubber mounts, they look a bit shorter than the M5 ones,

possibly meaning the sump will ni on sit on the crossmember/rack....?

or just touch once they wear in a bit

plus the M5 mounts have the threaded stud on an offset, which in needed

The escort mounts are available in different thicknesses from 35mm to 55mm and the studs are offset, although I don't know by how much.

Only reason I am asking is because I can't find the M535i mounts hockey puck mounts anywhere on ECP, CP4L, Ebay and on Realoem they appear to be discontinued? Only seeing the various upgraded options from the States, at $100-$200 a pair + shipping :(

Bang that into realoem

( 2 Number 8's )
:)

I cant say for sure the difference between the M5/Rs2000 mounts, as i'v never compared them side by side,
So instead of getting the Ford ones and finding out they dont fit,
play it safe and stick with BMW

I used E34 M50 rubber mounts on mine.

318IS mounts should fit too.

You are building a track slag aren't you?

Worth looking into the AKG mounts. Not cheap but they are solid and no fear of failure

I used two of these:

That was before I realised CP4L sold everything ECP does, for less!

+1

I have these on my M52, big difference from the new S38 mounts I had on before.
I have thought about using the ford mounts but they are very hard, and due to the angle the M52 is mounted at they will have to be twisted which could prove difficult/damaging
