Wut?

Surely they don't need welding and stuff because they include the lower stuff and hub and you just bolt your brakes etc. onto them, like below:

Guess you bought a coilover kit?

Doesn't have to be cheap at all. The most expensive coilovers require it too

His username is martinpallot, have a look through the motorsport section. He is local to me and who I bought my lump off and both his builds are something else!

From watching a friend convert some struts, you unscrew the standard strut, put the new one into the hole and weld it up, nothing too complicated

I've seen coilovers fitted by chopping the tube off the hub and welding the coilover on in its place.

A lot of the stanced e30s chop 1-2" from the strut tubes and this is probably what you are thinking of. They cut the threaded portion off, chop off the amount they want to lose, then weld the threaded portion back on so they are able to be put back together. Vorschlag will thread your tubes the extra 1" or so, that way you can just cut off the extra length. It's just to get it lower. Of course, doing this prevents you from running normal strut inserts. I think a common strut insert replacement is one from a 325iX, but it's about 3" shorter from what I remember, so they put a 2" spacer down into the strut tube first, making up those extra couple of inches.

Ah right ok, im not too bothered about that super low madness, im more than happy with the standard drop they have to offer 30-80mm. Il just buy them and wait and see, hopefully as above mentioned theyl fit inside and just need welded in place

I've just bought a H&R Cup kit, am I going to have butcher things to fit them or are they bolt on?

I have BC's and what I had to do was cut the strut tub 50mm up from the bottom. Then a slieve is pushed over this and welded in place, the shock screws into this.

Langer, those look similar to the BC's except no camber to mounts.

Was thinking on a set? Seems a no brainer over cheap coilovers and the BC's/golds etc are 200 notes more seems a good middle ground plus a set of camber plates if needed?

These are my prosport "coilovers" that failed at aprx 3500-4 k miles

NO welding required ! Only mod is to Cut the standard perches off the struts .
The standard screw cap the holds the shock in the tube is replaced by a billet part the also has an exteral thread for the coilover thread tube to screw on .

All will become clear when your big box of total b******s arrives .
Id sooner burn £200 than buy this shite again !

jom and prosport are the same shite verde, so dont waste your money on either, if you can get a set of fk ones these are marginally (and i use the term loosely) better.

agree with batts mate, buy cheap buy twice if not more times.

might be bettter, get a decent second hadn set of shocks springs, use them for a while until you can stretch to GAZ, then sell on what youv got and you shouldnt be to much out of pocket.

as second hand sets of Jom/pro sport coilovers seems as desirable as concrete shoes :)
