Hi,

The 885 head on my 2.5 has cracked and i have a 731 head hanging around but it's from a 2.0.

Would I be able to fit the 731 head without any problems (apart from slight power loss!)??

If not if anyone has a cheap head that will work for sale let me know!

Cheers jamie.

No the head won't fit as the 325i pistons stick above the block and the 320i ones don't. So the pistons will hit the 731 head.

I have rebuilt heads, they are cheap, for a rebuilt head, but not cheap compared to a worn out head for £100 in need of a rebuild :D

PM me if you are interested.

Without modifying the head no, replace an 885 with an 885 and a 731 with a 731.

However Byron that 731 test head i have used to live on a high comp b25 bottom end.

My next stroker build I want to do I am going to use a 731 head, so I can run flat-top pistons and get the compression right up. Just trying to find a 731 head here in Aus is a bit a of a challenge unless I buy a whole motor which i don't have room for...
