I think you have a point, check the links, different part numbers, LHD, RHD specific, they look different

What's all the fuss about, it looks like a straight pedal, surely the attaching bracket that fixes it could be modified or replicated to fit a rhd car ?

The two tone car has facelift head lamps.

They are non "smiley" ellipsoidal head lamps used from sept '87 to aug '88 commonly known as "bullseyes".

Oh right, my tech 2 had smileys but that was '89 so that would be why.

I'll have a look at doing it over the weekend. If people post more brochure pics I might just start a new wiki page for brochures as well.

Barry, did you ever manage to get anything done with regards an Alpina write up?

The_Diddler wrote:Is it not also true that back in the early days of the E30 launch in 1982 only 2 door saloon (often refered to by the un-washed as "Coupes")examples were available in 316 & 316i form.

It wasn't until the launch of the 6-pot and 4-door variants that sales started to really take off.

One of the most popular choices was a 4-door 320i auto....

Auto box = costly option
4 doors = costly option

How things have changed.

Diddler ducks for cover................................................
Paul you are nearly right. The launch E30s were ALL 2 door. The 4 door option in the UK didn't appear until the 84 MY.

At launch the 316, 320i and 323i were available, all in 2 dr form.

IIRC when the 4dr option appeared it was roughly the same cost as the option of a sunroof. 4drs or a sunroof - mmmmm let me think now....

Correctly so, the Coupe didn't appear until the E36 range.

316i didn't appear until the facelift models. 318i also appeared in 84MY.

The four door was launched in late 1982 but they weren't sold here until Sept. 1983 along with the 318i. A photo appeared in one of the UK magazines when it shouldn't have done, can't recall which one.

There was an even bigger gaffe made in the last BMW in house magazine of 1986 devoted to the new E32. There in the back is a photograph of an unpainted E34 bodyshell! I bet someone got a right bollocking for that.

If we could start another thread for brochure pics that would be great, just to try and keep this one on topic.

I have Alpina, Hartge, A/C schnitzer, Racing Dynamics and various BMW ones to add.

As for an Alpina write up, ive not had the time tbh.
