2 tonne trolley jack from halfrauds does the job for me.

bottle jacks are more dangerous i think. (unstable on unlevel ground)

Yup a 2tonne trolley jack is what I use. They aren't that expensive either. Those halfords ones are quite good. Think they do a deal with stands? Also get a set of axle stands for extra safety plus they come in very handy! Dont really trust bottle jacks that much.

cheap trolley jacks often don't go low enough, and almost always don't go high enough. Was given one a few weeks ago that won't even lift an E30 high enough to remove a wheel.
Worth spending a little bit more for a half decent one.

I bought the CTJ3000G - 3 Tonne Professional Garage Jack from machinemart and some extra large axle stands (AS10 Axle Stands), well happy with it highly recommended. It's nice to be able to get your car high enough to crawl around under. The axle stands from Halfords don't go high enough with decent trolley jacks.

It makes under the car jobs much easier :thumb:

Def get a trolley jack mate, bottle jacks are for commercials and are designed so they sit in a recess on one side of the axle, on a commercial you only need to raise the jack about an inch or so because of where your lifting, but on a car you jack the body, which fully extends the suspension before the wheel is raised so the jack needs its wheels to move along the ground.
Not sure about the one in your ad but a quick-lift usualy has foot operation aswell for speedy lifting winkeye

I've got the small 3 ton (i think) clarke trolley jack, and it get up high enough to get wheels off, but only just high enough to get the axle stands under (clark 3 ton). Only cost about Ԛ£30 though, so can't complain. If i was buying again, i'd get a proper full size one.

Get a decent high-lift trolley jack, which goes down when you push the stick forward. Should cost just over Ԛ£100.

Small trolleys are all very well (hey, I've got 2) but a big bugger is amazingly fast and useful.

Chock the wheels well - high lift jacks can tilt your car quite a bit ;)
