hi i have looked for info on here but am confussed about what to do with my m52b28 convertion,,

im planing on using my exsisting gearbox/ 318i,,
i understand that the duel mass flywheel and clutch is a lot heavier and people seem to go for a m50 skimmed but is there any reason i cant use mystandard one from the 318,? what would the difference be?

thanks steve..

You need an M20 flywheel (machined to clear) clutch and starter

The M42 is a smaller diameter and heavier anyway, if you get a standard one I can have it lightened for you for a reasonable amount 8)
I was buying reconditioned M20 starters for about £60 from ECP a year or two ago, Lucas brand too so they are quality. Give Matt (meatballs) a shout and he might be able to get you a good price through the zone account
