Hi guys, I found out today that my antenna's grommet is the cause of the water infiltration in my boot.. I ordered a new one but I'm now thinking of taking the whole thing out as I have recently installed a DAB head unit. Searching the web I've found some ok-ish delete plugs on pictures but none for grab. Any ideas??
thanks

Or he'll ask you to measure the hole before you plug it.
Although it'll take a bit more work, what with painting after.. I'd say the same as spook; and get it welded..

Possibly, no other traces of it though, unlike my IX which is wired for a cradle.B7 wrote:Car phone?Topblag wrote:For some reason my cabby has an aerial hole on each side..

I have a DAB unit in my E30 with no aerial, car came without one from new so I used one of these stuck to the windscreen -

Its ok in built up areas but shite and annoying once you get out into the sticks
My E34 has a roof mounted aerial that cost the best part of £100 and its really good, ive only ever lost reception once and that was in the North Wales hills during a storm!
If you want reliable reception then keep the aerial

My E30 came with no aerial and after a year of placing two bits of electrical insulation tape over it I replaced it with a rubber grommet from halfords. I bought one of them aerials for your window screen but I'm going to put it in the overhead panel to hide it. No idea what it'll be like for coverage though but I'm sure it's better then no aerial.

Ah, this might explain why mine has two aeriels. Always wondered why.Topblag wrote:Possibly, no other traces of it though, unlike my IX which is wired for a cradle.B7 wrote:Car phone?Topblag wrote:For some reason my cabby has an aerial hole on each side..
