I had a new pedal and cable in a few weeks ago but the pedal once again seems rough, as if its rubbing on something. Im sure the TB is fine, think the problem is somewhere at the pedal end. It makes a bit of a creaking noise and when you press it feels as though its grating a bit. You can't blip the throttle during a downchange (heel & toe out of the question) because it requires so much force you can give the gentle touch, you just end up booting it because there is so little time and the revs go through the roof!

Is it rusty on the floor where the peddle is attached? my mate has a 327i alpina which had a really stiff peddle and it was really rusty on the floor, some wd40 and grease helped alot...

No its a new pedal so there is no rust anywhere. I can only guess its somewhere in the pedal mechanism. Maybe im being too fussy, comparing it to an m40 where I think the TB has much less resistance in it. Am I right? Well whatever, its still way too stiff on the m20 so if it is the TB its too highly sprung!

Can't see how a rust floor would make an E30 pedal stiff. It's all plastic down there.

If you have a new cable and pedal, it only leaves the linkage on the throttle body (easy to check), and the rod that connects from the top of the pedal to the cable itself.
