Hi while trying to trace a leak in my 318is I was checking the sunroof drains to see if they were clear good news is water ran out of all four corners of the car bad news however it also ran out from the headlining drivers side above the rear window
Now im guessing the drain tube itself is broken how do i replace that bloody thing!

Also anybody got a pic of the location of the elephant trunk in the 318is so i know what bit to clean out

Thanks

Its under the headlining my friend you will have to remove quite a bit to access the hoses for the roof drain, I have a M3 which is slightly different to a normal E30 but i think you can access your drain hoses from the rear, Probably removing C pillar trims and anyhting that holds the trim in from there. Someone will know more about it and comment.

As for the Elephant trunk it would be in the engine compartment at the back of the engine under where the wiring runs across your bulkhead if you follow your brake pipe from your front drivers wheel you will see a rubber fitting with a flat end coming from your heater area.

Thanks, I just read this out of curiosity (same car, looked relevent) found the elephant trunk and mine is full of shit, if it prevents a water leak or anymore rust thanks in advance. Also is water droplets a worry on head lining and inside window rubbers? Had a feel around head liningand can't feel any rot?
