Locating a car

Seen on here a few times, people have got details on various cars by the reg, trying to locate a car for a friend any ideas to how i would go about doing this.

I dont think you can tell who owns it or what location, just whether its still on the road and taxed, colour and year of manufacture etc.. look on dvla under vehicle enquirey.

Done all the searches, seems as if th plate was taken off many years ago.
Is there any way to locate a chassis number for this vehicle

No idea to be honest. I assume you found the dvla search then. Try one of the traders on here, they're probably good at vehicle details.
