Hi guys,

Having some issues removing my diff from a 325.
The nuts which are holding the prop shaft to the diff input flange are just insanely tight. . . so I'm currently toying with the idea of using an angle grinder (I'm breaking the car).

Also, the bolts holding the diff to the subframe (the ones right at the top).... what's the best method of removing these?!

Alternatively...would it be easier to remove the whole subframe?!

Cheers

Hello, I used an allen key with a big long bar to release the prop-shaft.

For the bolts onto the subframe @ bush, I jammed one spanner in on one side of the bolt, and the other side I used a spanner, again extended to the max with a bar!

For the other bolts I used a socket - and guess what - an extension bar!

Good luck.

I Took out the driveshafts using a ratchet and Allen key head, a heat gun -£20 odd , and a length of pipe as help.the heat gun is the best help.Allen keys on heir own probably making life difficult for you to be honest

The top 4 bolts holding the diff just standard round spanner.keep the diff supported. Have a writeup and pics last page in the motorsport section my thread.

Try locking 2 spammers together to get the prop nuts off. Or just man up :)
