Afternoon all, has anyone had any one here had their wheels done by Pristine Wheels in Milton Keynes before?
They're meant to be the dogs so I'm told, just waiting for a quote to come back.

Please let us know what they quote.

I got the 15" BBS off my 325i done by them a few months back now.
They did the centre caps too, and guess what they actually fitted afterwards. And little things like the fact they masked up the face that meets the hub.
Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
This reminds me.... Rav any luck on your quote yet?

They're not the cheapest, but they do a decent job.
I've had 2 wheels straightened by them (£60 a pop) but they ran true afterwards. The quality they have is top rate though and a couple of friends have had wheels done for classics and modern stuff, and it's always been decent.
On a ironic note, I used to be one of the maintenance techs at the company that supplied their wheel packing boxes some years ago, and remember setting the machines up to make them!

Just got a call from them,
£67 per wheel + vat
£7 per centre cap + vat
They will arrange courier collection and delivery at no extra charge - total cost £355
Bit dearer than previous quotes I've had but I'm after a good job, will have to mull it over for a while I think!

Ricky said he has a can of red paint with your name all over it Matt
Keep in mind your wheels are straight and not kurbed up so they just need blasting and powder coating... I would be looking elsewhere. Surely a local zoner from the B'ham/Solihul area could get you a good price? Seeing as you save these people hundreds of pounds on pumps and the like...

we need to sort a company for some sort of zone discount deal,for oem finish 15" bbs, surely if a good deal could be sorted out they would get regular trade all year round

That's cheap. A local firm to me want £100 per wheel (inc Centre cap)... I haven't been able to find anyone to do it less than £80 a corner, and then you have to factor in the delivery/collection.Meatballs82 wrote:Just got a call from them,

Matt, try these http://asappowdercoating.co.uk/
They have a good reputation in the Mk1 Golf world, I asked about them the the Mk1 Owners forum due to the discount they offer for paid club members with a view to getting my BBS done
Here's some BBS RJs they did for someone in a silver/chrome powdercoat and carbon fibre dipped badge centers. They also "had to have one of the rims welded to build a bit up where a small chunk of the rim was missing";

No idea how much they cost but someone else posted that they charged £30 a wheel for white powdercoating.

^^^^ Nice one Dave
That place looks good, plus they could powdercoat all my other bits at the same time too. Will be calling them for a quote tomorrow

they look awsome !! not seen a chrome like powder coat before, post up the price they quote, ask potentialy any reduction for more sets or or they could set up an e30 zone deal for the club for regular business
meatballs- are you wanting just "silver" or looking for the original bmw e30 color ? as poweder coat is just generic colors, not done like paint codes to get exact colors
it may also be worth ringing round local places for blasting, and get them blasted then just find a finisher refurber
i had a set bead blasted for £20 a wheel i think it was, this is how they came back

Assuming that your wheels are not buckled,a few hours with wet and dry abrasive paper and a few rattle cans gives suprisingly good results;

Laches rimz with satin black centrez.....
Still saving up for the tyres,though!

That's wrong! "We are able to powder coat in any colour to RAL or BS requirements."polsta wrote: meatballs- are you wanting just "silver" or looking for the original bmw e30 color ? as poweder coat is just generic colors, not done like paint codes to get exact colors
