Hi,
I was searching everywhere, but i couldn't find it - i need a picture of the wiring of the gear level light from an E30 with automatic gearbox.
I need a picture how the wiring is from the white wiring plug to the bulb, because mine isn't ok at all and i need to see how the original (or at least a working one) looks to see how to make mine. I was looking in one manual and i found a wiring diagram of it, but couldn't understand anything...

Thanks.

Because of the route of the wires and the heat they experience from the transmission tunnel/exhaust/heat through the gear stick, the wiring tends to split and break on the gear lever side of things.

On the stick side, green with yellow trace and brown are the for the illumination.

I didn't take any pictures when I took my conversion so I'm working off memory here.

Ok, let me tell you what's the problem with my wires and i hope you guys will help me to solve the problem. My gear level light wasn't working, so i removed the black plastic cover to change my bulb, but the problem was not in the bulb. The wires were totally messed up and they was burned. I don't know why, maybe they were not connected right, or not good isolated. The brown cable was also connected to a splicer reducer (what is it for, btw and is it stock?). You can see it on the pictures, it's also burned?

So here are the pictures, i removed the connectors from the white wiring plug, to put all new, but can you tell me the right way to connect the wires to the bulb, do i still need the splicer reducer, etc, that's why i needed a picture.
