I had this on my 316i (then on 170k-ish with original clutch) and I was told the clutch fluid needed changing, which sorted the problem for 20,000-ish miles (problem is back now
).
However it was only juddering when hot
I'd say get the fluid changed though and see if that fixes it before replacing the clutch.

My mums E36 318i did this and it turned out that the clutch was knackered and had scored the flywheel.... that had only done 70,000 at the time too...

is it making the whole car judder? or is it a sort of tapping thru the clutch peddle?
just a thought, but a bit scairy,
i had exactly the same on my 2.5 it was only in 1st and either hot or cold,
and not long after it started, i span a bearing on the bottom end, which COULD be what is happening to your's or it might be something completley diffrent, just something to bare in mind

possibly the fluid needs replacing. dodgy engine / gearbox mountings, you've got a leak from the rear crankshaft oil seal allowing oil onto the clutch plate, a worn clutch plate,
I've got the same problem at present but i know the seals have gone in the master cylinder (Ԛ£45 from GSF) so i'm replacing that and the slave cylinder Good luck in getting it sorted .it's quite a common problem

I changed the clutch fluid about 2 weeks ago but still there. The engine is like new on the topside and bottom and has no leaks.
But when it judders the whole car judders.
So putting it down to a worn clutch plate or prop centre bearing.
Dose any one know how to tell if it is the prop centre bearing.
Thanks

just jack up the car ,crawl underneath and have a goog look and try to shake it,it should be pretty obvious if it is that
