Hi Guys

I want to bring my 318iS back to UK and have been searching the procedure online...
https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-i ... k/overview

the guide appears to be be clear.
Just wondered if anyone else has done this and/or pitfalls to be aware of.

e30 is a 1990 stock standard 319iS, no rust, still has original windscreen with running-in label.

Cheers

You must really love it or have 50kg of gear in the sills , French Connection stylee ! :)

It will cost you more in shipping and taxes than its value this end :(

OK Pete... the shipping i can live with... any ideas how the taxes are calculated... would appear that no VAT or duty are payable if the vehicle is for personal use and will be kept for 6 months

Out of interest, mine has the original windscreen with running-in label. Is this a good thing?

It just means the windscreen has more scratches.

Although I expect the original windscreens are of better quality than those replaced through autoglass etc.

The positive being that it has probably been there since it was correctly fitted when the car was new and that no windscreen fitters have been prodding around with their nasty tools scratching the screen aperture and causing rust and leak issues further down the line.
