im not drilling the roof, and they are not tech 1 oem, chrome electric ftw  , sorry for this :D , but ive got to be precise so its done right

so from the pink line, i measure ? 22ml out, and 50mm back towards the rear ? is that correct ?

quote brian-
The correct position is 25mm from the inner edge of the boot opening, and 50mm back from the front edge of the boot opening. Hole diameter is 22mm.

FFS,it's come to something when we go to three pages just to position a bloody radio ariel...stick the bugger in the roof and get better reception and be pretty much vandal free!
As if a couple of mm is gonna make any difference.

Just f*cking drill the hole and be done with it. Christ, as above, four pages and counting........

:D

You say that, my aerial isn't even powered, it's just that little knob you can see. Due to the horrible wiring by some previous pleb I figured it'd be better to just not have it working. Was playing with the stereo earlier, picks up signals fine as it is. :D
Although I was gutted as it doesn't appear to get Radio 2. :( R1, R3, R4, Classic and R Devon all get good signal though. :P

E: No worries polsta with the pics, figured I'd try and lend a hand if I could. I also made sure to measure from different areas to give ideas as to where to measure from. I'd say that going from the start of the boot line (pink line) is probably best as the boot lid could be in a different position on yours to someone else's so would provide a duff measurement.

This is a funny thread, right! a good friend of mine did this very job back in the day, put your hand on the quarter panel facing across the bootlid, little finger in line with the back edge. drill the hole just to the right of your thumb.

Job done.

Thing is Polsta, and believe me when I say this is truly constructive criticism, you ask a question, get a fair answer and then continue to challenge and ask more and more questions. It's the same on all your threads. P38 was one I can remember, the e30 31.8 auto convertible roadblock was another. Your "what should I do with this rusty tech 1" was another. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

You seem unable to make a decision on anything without asking numerous times.

I'm not having a go at all but sometimes you just need to accept an answer or try to work it out for yourself. :D  .
