Iv got a replacement engine to fit in my sterling tourer and im going to get it all cleaned up and painted before its fitted. Has anyone got any ideas on the best look or colour combinations.
Iv tried the wrinkle finish on the rocker cover and inlet and it looks ok but a bit bland.
I did consider some of the liquid wraps iv seem done but im unsure on how well they last??
Ideas on painting engine.....

I've done red high temp enamel. Looks nice when on a stand but when fitted its hardly seen. Worth the effort?.........dunno!

Personally, I'd go with Verde, he's such a handsome boy...

Spent hours painting my M20 when I built it several years ago, block black, head silver, pulleys bright red etc.
On fitting the thing, all you can see is the bloody rocker cover and the inlet!
But at least I know it's been done, and it makes it nicer to work on.

I was going to do a Guinness coloured engine bay on my M42,
Black rocker cover and intake manifold with cream grills, cream strut brace, cream rocker cover bolts and where is has that plastic BMW cover ill sand it flat and spray it black and put the guinness logo there. All that gloss finished

And if it doesnt look good i'll sand down the grills until they go silver and respray the bolts and strut brace black
Its just a thought that will probably never happen
Plus im getting old now and am beginning to leave the dark side and see the light the OEM look has to offer
