Going to be doing this tomorrow morning. Plan to release all gases outdoors, remove the pipe work, heaterbox, compressor. I know about keeping the heater panel from the dash. I assume I won't need the car ECU.

Want to be clear in what I should take and I'm looking for any top tips for the removal process.

It'll be Boyds, I'm not doing it where the car was sitting, hazardous area.

Bump, I've read the wiki install article, which is really helpful.

Bear in mind that since I wrote the Wiki article I've been informed that there are differences between pre- and facelift installations... but I'm not sure exactly what they are other than different types of loom plugs. If you find any inconsistencies, let me know.

I've always found removal is easier than fitting, hopefully that's the case. The car in question is preface but I'm sure it has a facelift lump so it could be a bit of everything involved. :P

As an alternative I was considering trying to capture it in plastic bags then tying them up and taking them to the local recycling centre.....

Job is done, there were some serious challenges getting the fan motor casing off and separating the pipework. Car had been converted to a newer gas by BMW. Wiring in the car was a mess so we needed up taking more wiring than planned.
