MOT done, exhuast needed new back box as one of the pipes at back had fallen off + a few other bits, so decided to get them to do it as MOT had expired.

They reckon they couldn't get me a back box for under £150 from their supplier. So they decided to weld on 2 pipes to the old box. Is this normal or as I suspect incredibly stupid. Why not ring ECP and get one for £50!?

You wouldn't want a cheap ECP box mate :eek:

Gotta be better than my rusty one!? Do you lose power with a cheap ECP one?

We're told that Klarius / Timax is made to OEM specs, maybe it is on modern applications but every cheap E30 exhaust I've ordered has been scrap so far.

i'd say they helped you out in fairness they could of just failed it then charged you for a re-test .

Secondhand exhaust FTW - there are enough E30's being fragged to be able to pick up a good used one easily and cheaply :D
