Hi, guys,

1. how can i recognize if one inlet manifold is from M20B25? I just bought one that should be from B25 and just want to be sure that it's not from B20. There are some numbers on it:

1289211 and 23037200

2. What are the differences between the rubber boot for M20B25 with manual transmission and for M20B25 with automatic transmission. In bmwfans they appear with different numbers. I want to know if i can put one from a car with manual gerabox to my car with auto gearbox.

Cheers.

No idea on the numbers, but the two manifolds are visually different, especially when viewed from the throttle body. The 325 manifold runners are a smooth curve, while the 320 version has a definite change of direction half way along. You should be able to find pics. on here somewhere of both versions.
AFAIK, manual or auto doesn't have much to do with things, but there are three versions of the 325 air pipe.
There should be one for a T shaped idle control valve, and one for a L shaped ICV, both with a second branch to the brake servo valve, and a third, latest version, which doesn't have the servo branch. These cars use a simplified brake servo vacuum supply, similar to that on M40 engined E30s.

Thank you, when i opened the hood and saw my b20 inlet i directly saw the difference, i didn't expect that it will be so obvious. :) So i've bought the right one.

About the rubber boot. It'svery snowy and windy right now and i'm a bit lazy to go to the car again, but i'll take a look later to my b20 rubber boot to see if there's any reason to be different because of the auto tranny. :)
