Hi all - the rubber that goes along the front is knackered. I rung BMW and they said it was either £173 or £273 I can't remember. The part number: 54318100908.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find an alternative? Also I'm assuming I'll need some glue - can anyone please tell me what glue will be the best?

Thank you :)

These are dealer only. I have one as a spare from an old roof but I'm keeping it just incase.

A wanted ad might give you some luck but generally these are past there best on most cabs that get broken.

The side sections will fit into the gap on the frame, the leading edge I have been told cab be tiger sealed on. Not done it myself though.

Isn't someone breaking a cab in the parts section at the moment?

If the seal is still intact, try a bit of vasaline on it,it may just be a bit stiff and hard.

You could also try a product called Gummi Flegge available on ebay, works a treat reviving rubber but will not work miracles if the rubber is cracked etc.

Depending on what the actual issue is you could try a DIY fix, take a look at sealsdirect.co.uk

hope that helps :)

Anyone know about the glue? Where to get it from and what it's called? Thanks.

It's just a "rubber conditioner" and not some wizardly German invention.
