I wouoldnt say that at all, remember its not about photographic skill as such, its about what picture people like best, sometimes simple ideas win, this time it was a draw between 2 very different photographics and thats good. Really disheartens me as I'm a newby with no "Friends" as of yet on here and not really too sure I want to take the time to bother entering.
In My opinion "Staty" should have clearly won. He's thought about Composition, Focal length, It is crisp and in Focus, the highlights and shadows are balanced, there is not another blooming photographer in shot!! *sigh*
Guessing he just doesn't have the friends...
One downside is people seem to vote for their own entry. I didn't enter this one simply because I couldn't think of a decent pic to take, but the one I did enter before I made sure that I then voted for the photo I liked best and ignored my own (even if I liked it more).Gunion wrote:The voting reminds me far too much of that little X-Factor show... I do have some friends, honest! I guess it's down to what picture people like the best. I will make sure that my next picture has something in the background that makes no sense what so ever, maybe a pig smoking a pipe. I'm sure when you enter the competition you won't be disheartened, enjoy your stay!

@ Gunion - Definately get your photos entered. It has nothing to do with the amount of friends you have... If someone is ringing around trying to get their friends to vote for their picture, they have alot of issues in life and we'll just let them win as they'll need the support
The previous winners have been the best pictures which you can clearly see from the old threads. The better pictures have more votes.
Anyway, with regards to JdmFanBoy winner, are we in agree'uns? The comp was still open for others to vote so its only fair... If not then it means every month we need to be closing the threads at 23:59pm and too be honest, its being a little weird..

I don't do it for a living, i'm a maintenance engineer! I don't enter anymore because I don't want to put people off. I don't want people going "oh i won't bother entering because he's got better stuff he's bound to win" even though their photos probably aren't bad at all.
