Hi guys, as above really. The engine is an m20b25 that runs spot on, but has done a few miles. ..229K or there abouts. Is it worth while and what are the gains from a decent chip? Is it easy enough for a complete electrical novice like myself to do or am i best off having someone that knows what they're doing to do it? Also, is there anyone on here that can supply me with one and what sort of price am i looking at? sorry about the questions. Thanks, Dan

check out the for sale thread or look up speedtouch he sells ready to roll chips, its fairly simple even being a novice, it just pops straight in the ecu

I can supply one, for a bargain £25 posted. They give the following gains:

EcoTorq M20B25 Mild; 7-11bhp gain, significantly enhances the torque for driveability/improved fuel economy (expect at least an extra 2-3mpg average) and eliminates flat spots, also a 6900rpm rev limit. An ideal blend for daily motoring, also works well with automatics.

M20B25 Wild; 8-15bhp gain, up to 192bhp if combined with 268/268 cam, BBTB and six-branch as per Alpina C2 2.5 spec, 7000rpm rev limit. Best suited for fast road/track day use. Alternatively, a 6500rpm rev limit can be specified.

They are an easy DIY fit - see the Zone Wiki guide:

It's best to check your ECU code; remove the trim panel below the steering column and look at the label on the silver ECU lid, which should be in the form 0 261 200 xxx.

Excellent. I'll have a look over the weekend an I'll be in contact. Think a mild chip will be the one for me. Thanks Mate

No problem. A Mild is ideal for Tourings, to boost the low end and mid-range torque to improve driveability and fuel economy.
