Hi chaps. Just popped out in my Touring and had a few drops of water land on my left hand. Had a feel around the sunroof and couldn't feel any dampness, but when i checked around my OBC above the mirror.... SOAKED!! I do have a cracked windscreen that starts directly above the mirror behind the seal so i'm just hoping its that as the screen is getting replaced soon. Most likely cause? is there any drainage i can check, or do i have to remove the bloody headlining? Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan
The outer sunroof seal is not waterproof, Most of the water blows or drips into the outer gutters, The small amount of water that gets in would find its way out of the 4 drainage holes 2 in the front and 2 in the rear on a saloon/2 door. Open your sunroof and you will see 2 holes in the corners at the front. Get something flexible but ridgid and try to push down into the holes to see if they are blocked.Be carefull as these are connected to plastic drain pipes which run down the A pillars and down to the sill behind your front speakers,
If the holes are not blocked you might have some rot there, And you would have to remove the check panel and possibly some of the front of the headlining to have a look.
I would have a look to make sure the windscreen is not the problem before you start to remove too much headlining though.

I had really bad water ingress in my touring, so when I pulled the headlining out to change I I had a good look- there were two suspects for mine of sunroof and aerial and it was the latter:
The small nut underneath was loose and it allowed water in, you can get to it via the sunroof motor aperture, get it tightened up with some silicon sealant and its fixed the problem 100% with me.
Give us a shout if you need more help
