Hi, im new here but thought id share what ive been upto since buying my e30 in october its a 325i no interior welder main things really, my names Tommy but il let pictures do the talking kinda thing, i travelled down to basingstoke a long drive of just under 800miles all in the car didnt have mot when i went to get it but i had a copy of the fail sheet as the guy had put it throu an mot but failed and with 101k miles with all old mots to prove i had this pic i got sent from last owner

Image

and pic i took once i got there..

Image

so once i got it home i set about ticking things off the list was mostly simple stuff nothing major like headlights, number plates, cut springs i also wanted to tidy up the inside so stripped the sound deadning and painted the inside more pictures..

Image

Image

after i changed lights etc ready for mot..

Image

Image

Image

so it passed its mot and i took it to crail the following weekend for some fun and the reason i bought it...

Image

Image

not done much since then and cars not moved much either but will upload more pics etc but ive bought poly bushes for rear subframe e46 bottom arms and a hydro from chizfab so got that to fit :)

hi again i have more pictures etc i found so thought id share :D it had hid lights and the inner lamps removed so had no sidelights or full beam so i won a set off ebay and fitted those there in pretty good condition too..

Image

while fitting them the wiring had all been cut etc for the hids so i had to find old wires etc..

Image

while fitting them i gave the front end a coat of matt black while the grille and lights were out and it used to be red and u can see alot of it coming throu

as it failed on cut springs also i got with the car new suspension in the box prosport stuff off ebay it does the job and suppose u pay for what u get but it saved me buying any so fitted that think i put a previous photo of heating up the shocks with bottles as it wasnt coming undone even with adjuster cups not fitted in the rear it was still really high.

Image

Image

i didnt notice untill yesterday when i had a look under as the exhaust musnt be for the car and im looking at a way to secure it rather than 1 exhaust rubber at the rear i noticed this on the petrol tank

Image

few dents and must scrape alot, also have a picture of the inside in primer it took quite a while to do as the inside was abit of a mess and took a while taking sound deadning up and the glue also happy with the end result thou

Image

and a couple more photos 1 of parts and another of the engine bay..

Image

Image

so thats whats been going on since ive bought my first e30 im really liking it, il try keep an upto date sorta thread going. hope u like it any comments welcome

not long after i last updated this the car got put off the road into my garage and i moved away for a few months then i didnt have much interest in getting it back out again but i hurt my back and could no longer do my other hobbie so back out came my car it was nice working on it and taking my time and having fun i went to a drift day at driftland last september time for a practice day

Thanks Steve K :)

Hi Dave, i never did fit the e46 arms there still lying about, just decided it went ok without them, might fit them in future. Are you thinking of fitting them to your e30? it looks really clean when i was parked beside it.

I cant imagine people on here liking you making a sport satin black haha. Im unsure how mine was done as i bought it like that id rather it wasnt the problem is it never looks clean as the dirt dry's into the paint so likely to be rattle canned but might be ok if it was done properly with a gun :)
