Hi all,
Ive seen an 86 320i on Car and Classic - D333 URA, up for a grand. I'm a good 2-3 hours away from it. Anyone seen the car before?
The guy reckons its sound and will be good for a long journey but has only moved in the last year for its MOT.
Reckon it would make it home?

It's had the rear arches done, half the cars a different shade. Not too arsed about that, more bothered about getting home.
Enjoy the turd.

It looks like a straight old thing. The chrome bumper 320i's go quite well and that's quite a nice spec. If it's solid and drives well you can't go too far wrong. It was registered in Notts/Leicestershire.

Decent spec but you need to see it in the metal. Its been for sale for ages on eBay and Car and Classic but 320i autos were never the most desirable of chariots.

A good colour... I like a Bronzit chromie, not bad on the price if its not a rotter. But as said above definitely go have a look at it before you go any further..

I think I may pass, it's a bit of a mission I suppose. The quest continues.

Yea, I suppose. I've been badly burnt in the past - the wife won't let me forget. Was gonna drive down with the wife, but may get the train and leave her at home.....
I just know it will go bang somewhere on the m6.

In 12 years of driving E30s I've never failed to get to my destination. Unlike my old E36 and E46!Romanzach wrote:I just know it will go bang somewhere on the m6.

I am with Andyboy, looks straight enough, not easy to get a straight 2 door (especially early cars) for under a grand now. However if it is hanging it is £200 worth of scrap
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

It's the temperature needle that gives me nightmares. I do want the car tho, love the colour and with it being an auto. My knees are shot despite being 32.

Just check all the fluids before you set off and take it easy - and take your RAC card with you just in case

Love the replies. Last had an e30 12 years ago, good times. What would you offer for the 320i?

You can't really talk about what to offer until youve seen it.
If it is genuinely rust free its worth every penny of the £1000 asking price - but until you go and have a poke around you wont know - as noted above despite its MOT it could be £200 worth of frag if its crunchy underneath.
Although personally if I go and see a £1000 car which I want to buy after checking it over I'm generally pretty happy if I can get it for less than £850
Likewise if I was selling a car for £1000 and someone came along and offered me £500 I'd take great pleasure in telling them to fook off

Great numberplate for a 333i conversion, or to sell to someone with a 333i...
